FAQ on Gateway Branson Church’s New Home
Where: 3522 Keeter St, Branson, MO, Located next to Plato’s Cave
Overview: In the tourist-filled streets of Branson, Missouri, there is an underbelly that is far too often ignored. Amongst the bright lights and attractions there are people who are hurting, homeless, and without hope. Many of our families live in extended stay motels, where multiple people often share one small room as a living space. Imagine your 13 year old calling a bathtub their bed. Imagine being marginalized by society because you do manual labor or are poor, dirty, in addiction, alcoholic, or ‘different’. For 10 years now, Gateway Branson has been a refuge to people who have been disillusioned by past church experience, walked away from faith or have simply never heard about this God nor His love for them. Gateway Branson Church is built to meet three foundational needs: Physical, Emotional and Spiritual.
The exciting news is we have a contract to buy a building located in the middle of one of Branson’s extended stay motel areas. Within a ½-mile radius, this building is surrounded by 8 extended stay motels and over 600 HUD subsidized housing units. This area is full of the people we love to love. With your help we want to live out our mission to help unchurched people become a community of growing, multiplying Christ followers.
Thank you for joining us as we watch God transform lives and create new disciples.
Our Mission: Gateway Branson is a church for people who don’t like church. Our Mission is to help unchurched people become a community of growing, multiplying Christ followers and to serve those being marginalized by society because they are poor, dirty, in addiction, alcoholic or ‘different’. We don’t water down the gospel, but we do simplify it to make it easy for the unchurched to understand and respond to God’s love.
Main Points:
Gateway Branson has rented from Elevate Branson (formerly known as Jesus Was Homeless) on Sundays for 10 years. We now need to be open during the week to meet the needs of our community.
3522 Keeter St is the previous clubhouse for Plato’s Cave. It has a kitchen which we will use to serve a hot breakfast before church on Sundays.
Financial support to payoff the $400,000 building mortgage.
Within a ½-mile radius, this building is surrounded by 8 extended stay motels and over 600 low income housing units. This area is full of the neighbors we love to love, and it is ripe for harvest.
We will also buy a used van to pick up our neighbors who are too far away to walk.
An additional $25,000 will be needed for these renovations to our new building:
Build 2 classrooms for Sunday School and to use during the week.
Outfit existing kitchen and laundry room with appliances.
Create an auditorium.
Paint, refinish floors, etc.
