Wayne Yost aka "Wangel" (It's complicated)

Lead Pastor

As Lead Pastor, Wayne is responsible for the overall vision and direction of Gateway Branson Church, leads our staff, and does everything else to keep Gateway Branson Church running. You may or may not see Pastor Wayne teach on a Sunday morning but you will always see him teach his Deeper Life study on the first Sunday of each month!
Official Sounding Stuff:
  • Wayne was born in Joplin, Missouri but his parents moved quite a bit when he was young. He returned to the area as a teenager and has been here ever since.
  • Wayne married the joy of his life in 1986; her name is Nikki and together they have two sons and a daughter-by-choice, Jerron and Zeke/Caleigh plus a grandson and granddaughter.
  • Wayne graduated from high school in Sarcoxie, MO, attended Central Bible College, and is still trying to graduate from the School of Hard Knocks.
  • Wayne spent 25 years as a carpenter in the Springfield, MO area before coming to us as lead pastor in May of 2021.
Fun Sounding Stuff:
  • Wayne is all about Wheel Horse garden tractors, he uses one of them to snow plow the parking lot each winter!
  • Watching anything that includes Tim Conway is Wayne's jam! 
  • Fried Chicken...snack or meal...is a bridge over troubled water. 
  • Wayne sleeps with his eyes open...remember that if you are talking to him and he's not responding!

Jason Moshier aka "Cubs Daddy"

Associate Pastor

As Associate Pastor, Jason works behind the scenes to make sure Gateway Branson runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. You may also see Pastor Jason teach on Sunday.
Official Sounding Stuff:
  • Jason grew up in a small town in Illinois called Abingdon which was famous for its toilet factory and the tallest totem Pole in the United States east of the Rockies.
  • Jason and his wife, Donna, have lived in the Ozarks since 2006 and have six kids, 13 grandkids, four dogs, and one cat named Bob.  Bob is brilliant.
  • Jason attended Carl Sandburg College in Illinois
  • Jason works at NARMC EMS as the Clinical Quality Chief, and has served as a Campus Pastor at Brand New Church as well as the Grow Pastor and Campus Pastor of Gateway Branson 
Fun Sounding Stuff:
  • (Favorite Sports Team) Chicago Cubs, but we love him anyway
  • (Favorite movie/TV Show) Braveheart,  Remember the Titans and anything NCIS
  • (Favorite Snack or meal to eat) Pizza in any form
  • (Fun Fact about you)  Got married on Halloween by Elvira with the wolfman in attendance.

Lindsey Thompson

Music Director

Directing music is only one of the many things Lindsey does at Gateway Branson. She likes to stay busy so she also leads our Monday evening "Food For Thought" study and the Tuesday morning "The Table" women's small group.  Oh yeah, she's a mom of 4, too! Want to know how she gets it all done? "French press coffee, and lot's of it..." is her standard reply!
Official Sounding Stuff:
  • Lindsey grew up just outside of Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Plano High School
  • Lindsey is married to Andy and they are raising 4 kids and 4-16 dogs (count varies as she finds puppies who need a good home)
  • When she isn't at Gateway Branson, Lindsey works as an intake specialist for Mercy hospitals in Springfield
Fun Sounding Stuff:
  • She loves to watch detective TV shows
  • Her dad taught her how to braid hair
  • Her grandma got her hooked on the "crooners" of the 50's and 60's, she loves Karaoke Night!
  • You would never know it but she gets really nervous in big crowds!
