The rhythm of our days is built on expectations that develop from consistent events and happenings in our lives. Consistency brings peace to our days; when something is missing, it throws off our rhythm and affects our inward and outward focus.

The Shema prayer of Deuteronomy 6 is meant to give us consistency in the way we face each day. It covers every aspect of our lives and teaches us how to love God with our whole being.
